This one is definitely not paleo, but if you’ve had a very good week, it’s time to dust off your chop-sticks and head to a dumpling restaurant that has had the honour of being awarded a Michelin Star. Yes, you read that right. A dumpling place, Tim Ho Wan, has been rated by the prestigious Michelin Guide which has been in operation for over a century.
Now, I have to be honest, I was actually not blown away by the dumplings here and personally think Din Tai Fung is better, but I’ve been told by everyone I’ve spoken to that I clearly got a bad day because everyone else rates it highly.
If you want to avoid the queues there’s a Tim Ho Wan (not the one that received the star but the same restaurant) in the 2nd floor of Central station. It is a bit difficult to find, but persevere because even if they’re not the best dumplings, you can’t miss a chance to try ones with a star associated to them. Even at the restaurant in the station you will find a queue that snakes around a couple of times if you want to sit in but it’s much faster moving than the main restaurant.
If you don’t want to wait in the queue, you can get takeaway and eat it at home instead 🙂
If you like Chinese dumplings this is a must on your stop in Hong Kong – just so you can say you’ve done it!
